Some diners note that prices can be higher than expected, especially for those who haven't visited a chippy in years. Additionally, there have been mentions of the odd delay during peak hours, particularly on busy Friday evenings. A few customers noted they wished for more variety in side dishes, referring to a desire for additional vegetarian options or specials that change regularly. The occasional mix-up in takeaway orders has also been a minor hiccup that can lead to disappointment for hungry patrons. Overall, these issues are generally overshadowed by the positive experiences shared by most visitors.
We tried several fish and chip shops starting in Wallasey and this was the only one that accepted card payments. The fish and chips were lovely and they put it a pot of mushy peas. I'm not sure if they were free or I paid for them. I didn't ask for them. It was more expensive than I was expecting but I haven't bought fish and chips from a chippy for years so didn't know what to expect. They were worth it though. I'd definitely go there again
Called in just before lunchtime closing and food cooked to order. The best fish and chips we'd had for ages. Dog loved his sausage too! Very friendly. We'll definitely go back next time we're in the area 😋😊👌 2nd visit 8th July 2025 just as good! Husband enjoyed his surprise curry 😁👏
Just stopped for a fish for my wife. Lovely crisp batter, thick piece of fish, really nicely cooked. She was very happy.
Great local chippy with tasty food & lovely staff. Offers delivery too which is super convenient.
I wouldn't go anywhere else, great food, service and staff. I would highly recommend, they are also now on justeat which is handy!
I discovered this chippy only two weeks ago when passing by, they didn't have any haddock so I had cod and chips instead, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I've been back today and have had haddock and chips, the batter was light and crispy and the chips were freshly made and it was absolutely delicious. It's taken me 4 years living here to find fish and chips that I enjoy. I will definitely be going back.
Got to say this is the best Chippy for miles and been going there for over 35 years , the staff are great and very friendly. The food is spot on , very fresh fish and all the Chinese meals are very tasty. It’s also very clean and tidy . I just love it there , favourite place .
